Owner and Instructor, Terry Irwin started dancing as a student in 1973 in
Cleveland, Ohio and as a professional in 1974 in Cincinnati. He's a five-time
United States Champion and coaches, judges and creates choreography for professionals
and amateurs alike all across the country. He's always enjoyed the social
interaction of ballroom dancing and the many
interesting personalities he's constantly meeting. Terry firmly believes anyone
can learn and we all learn through encouragement.
In what little free time he has, Terry enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys "buying", not "shopping", "buying". It's not all fancy flying feet for Terry. He was a Junior National Trap and Skeet Champion and got into college on a full Mathematics scholarship.
Dana DuQuaine, the Club Manager, is more of a musician than a dancer. He's always been a singer participating in high school and college choirs. His singing happens mostly at the karaoke bars now, but he was recently honored to sing for a club member's routine. Dana was also in a band where he sang, played a little keyboard and wrote lyrics. Club members are what he loves the most about working at TC Dance Club Appleton. They bring such energy and enthusiasm to the club. They make it a incredible place to work.
Jed Schug has been dancing since he was a child. He started to really learn Ballroom dance when he became an instructor in 2002. He sees learning how to dance as another journey in our lives and happiness is found in the journey, not the destination. Jed loves how dancing helps him how to truly be in the moment. He says through teaching he becomes a better student.
Jed likes to keep his lessons fun and entertaining. Laughter is a big part of any of his lessons. Jed has three chinchillas and a roommate at home. He likes to play disc golf, read and play poker. He likes most kinds of music and his favorite TV show is Prison Break.
Kristi Middleton
Instructor, Appleton WI
Kristi Middleton started dancing ballet, jazz and tap at a very young age. She picked up ballroom from her father when she was 12. Kristi loves the self-expression that comes from dance. She loves to travel, read, paint and shop (especially for ballroom dresses and shoes).
Kristi has family located throughout the United States including: Washington, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Illinois, Florida and of course Wisconsin. She loves all kinds of music and her favorite movie is "The Princess Bride".
Jared Sears
Instructor, Appleton, WI
Jared Sears started dancing at 5 years old. He got away from it through his high school years choosing instead to play soccer and football. Jared came back to dancing when he became an Instructor with TC Dance Club Appleton. Jared comes to us from New York state via Los Angeles where he was working as an actor. His favorite experience was being in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Jared learns something new from his students everyday and adapts his teaching style to his students. Though one thing is the same on every lesson. No one has more fun than Jared's students. Jared and his girl, Katie recently bought their first home. They share their new digs with their dogs, Lilly and Luca along with 5 finches.
